I've mentioned before that I get approached by a number of people interested in a scene around vampirism. Most are subs looking to be bitten, but a few are tops looking to add a little dark sensuality to a scene, and seeking advice. But, regardless of if vampires are hot or not for you, if you want to see your partner squirm with desire, use your teeth during foreplay or a scene. Believe it or not, the body reacts to moderate pain in the same manner it reacts to a skilled mouth or tongue: with instant arousal. As the mind catches up, intense sexual excitement follows; it’s always a turn-on to discover a dom has that kind of power over a sub's body. Which means that biting in the right place (at the right time) could really make someone scream your name. Whether it's an involved scene with candles and fangs, or vanilla foreplay with some nibbling, you can enhance the passion with some gentle biting.
Just remember, everyone's threshold for pain is different, so you may need to adjust your technique before you really hit the spot. And you’ll know when you have — the moaning and writhing from your sensual biting will be a dead giveaway.
"Biting"
To be clear, I am not suggesting anyone take an actual bite of flesh from anyone. The intent here is not to break the skin, or apply a lot of bite force. The average human's front teeth and incisors can apply between 200 and 500 newtons of bite force, (that's 40-110 pounds per square inch [PSI]), which would be remarkably painful and do some severe damage. The intent here is to be gentle, and "pinch" the skin with the teeth. We do not want to come even close to breaking the skin. For purposes of this article, "biting" is to graze and gently pinch the skin with your teeth, using the tongue to caress the skin.
If you're going for the whole vampire vibe, and have procured some plastic fang caps, the good news is that those will likely fail and fall off your teeth before you can apply enough pressure to break the skin. If you are seeking to employ biting as a form of bloodplay, you can purchase metal fang caps online which can be sharpened. I have a pair of fangs made by a dentist friend, custom fit and made of dental porcelain. They are sharp as hell, (I've made my own tongue bleed with them more than I care to count,) and they work well for the purpose-- but that brings us to the next topic:
Real biting is dangerous
The human mouth carries high-risk bacteria that can cause serious infection. If you are interested in blood sports, there are safer, better ways. (See: Bloodplay 101). Biting is the most risky form of blood play, and is likely to result in a wound that is deep, likely to scar, and also very likely to get infected, resulting in intense pain, swelling, and the need for medical attention. If you insist on doing this, at a bare minimum, you are going to want to treat the mouth of the biter with an antiseptic mouthwash or cetylpyridinium chloride to reduce bacteria, and be prepared to threat the wound immediately following, but I advise against it. So, with an understanding that by "biting", I mean non-skin-breaking nibbles and pinches, let us proceed:
Bite their erogenous zones
If sensual biting is new terrain for you, start with the nape of the neck. Most find the area highly sensitive and absolutely love being kissed here. This makes for an easy transition once you have them purring with delight. The inner thigh is equally deserving of your attention, and will often result in begging for other oral stimulation. If you really want to drive them wild, don’t give in to the request; continue nibbling a trail along the edge of the thigh until they lose control. . Other areas you’ll want to pay special attention to include the curve of the waist, the lower back, the area just below the nipples, and the bottom.
Build it up
It won’t do to just sink your teeth in before their body’s ready for it — that could really be painful. Ideally, they should be in an aroused state, both physically and mentally. Start with the foreplay you’ve already mastered: kissing, caressing, talking dirty, or whatever your normal pre-scene foreplay entails. If you’d like to up the ante, try something new and unique, or some roleplay. Once the desire is obvious, gently drag your teeth across a shoulder, thigh or hip — anywhere fleshy to ensure minimal pain in case they doesn’t like it. If they shudder with pleasure, consider it a green light to continue — but tread lightly. You want to find their pain threshold without crossing it. Keep an eye on their facial expressions and they will let you know when to say when.
Keep it quick
When it comes to sensual biting, the secret to keeping real pain out of the equation is keeping it quick. The longer you maintain the bite, the more pain is registered. Therefore, the ideal nip really shouldn’t last more than a few seconds — unless they asks for something more intense, of course. You’ll also want to make sure you don’t spend too much time in one spot; this could get painful fast.
Don’t just bite at random
No matter how much your partner(s) enjoy this kind of play, random biting can result in a very turned-off person. In other words, don’t bite the first thing you see, unless it’s one of the areas we’ve already discussed. Biting the wrong place can really freak someone out, and ruin an otherwise sexy scene — especially if they've never been bitten by anyone before. We want them moaning with pleasure, not agony.
Be aware of noises
Your partner(s) may love it when you turn into an animal, but that doesn’t mean they wants you to sound like one. Certain noises simply have no place in the bedroom — slurping and smacking of the lips are particularly disgusting. No matter how skilled you are at nibbling a neckline, toss a slurp in there and that’s the end of that. Silliness can have the same effect, so avoid comments like “Yummy!” or other sayings one might hear on a playground.
Don’t chew
It goes without saying, but the more you nip one particular area, the less pleasurable the sensation becomes. The same goes for anything resembling a chewing motion: There’s nothing sexy about feeling gnawed upon. Keep your sensual biting crisp, clean and quick to prevent feeling like a chew toy.
It’s all natural
Biting can be a very pleasurable experience, and it’s something some secretly yearn for. Unfortunately, tops often hesitate to experiment with the idea, fearing they might be thought of as too animalistic. Rest assured, biting is a natural instinct that arouses even the most vanilla of people.
