420 Day, celebrated annually on April 20th, is an international counterculture holiday dedicated to the celebration and advocacy of cannabis. It serves as both a festive gathering for consumers and a "call to action" for activists seeking cannabis legalization and reform.
While it’s not a kink or BDSM-related fetish, 420 can overlap with kink spaces in practical ways. Cannabis sometimes shows up in social settings (like munches or private gatherings) where people are already more relaxed and open. Some people also use it to feel more aware of their body or sensations, which can connect to things like slow touch or sensory play. That said, many people in kink communities avoid mixing substances with play, since it can affect communication, judgment, and consent.

Anal August is an annual celebration of any form of anal sex. The month-long event can be enjoyed by any gender. Some people approach Anal August as a potential challenge, while others view it as a celebration of anal sex and a way to break the taboo around anal play.
The term is used is sex-positive communities, by sex toy brands and bloggers, and by anal play lovers. Sex educators and bloggers often use it as a content theme to de-stigmatize anal play, and discuss anatomy, pleasure, and consent.
Some people turn Anal August into Anal Only August (or AO August for short) and will challenge themselves to only have anal forms of sex. On FetLife, this can include posting updates about how their challenge is going, much as they would with Locktober.
Anal August can be used for:
- Solo discovery (e.g., butt plugs, prostate massagers)
- Partnered kink scenes (e.g., anal training, pegging, anal domination)
- Education (e.g., workshops, blog series, social media challenges)

Cake and Cunnilingus Day is a meme holiday celebrated on April 14th as a response to Steak and Blowjob Day. This is exactly one month after that holiday, and exactly two months after Valentines day. It mirrors the more rowdy nature of Steak and Blowjob Day, while celebrating femininity - and cake! The tradition is to serve a woman cake while she is receiving cunnilingus.
While primarily considered a heterocentric holiday, Cake and Cunnilingus Day is still fairly popularly celebrated, even mockingly or in fun, by many people of all genders.
Pi, (the mathematical constant, approximately equal to 3.14159, that is the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter,) is playfully used to refer to 3.14 or March 14th as a day to celebrate creampies.
A creampie (also known as internal ejaculation, and often in same-sex contexts as breeding) is a sexual act featured in hardcore pornography in which a man ejaculates inside his partner's vagina (or anus) without the use of a condom, resulting in visible seeping or dripping of semen from the orifice.
Of course, this is a form of unprotected sex, increasing the risk of pregnancy in women and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) such as HIV. The risk of STIs is markedly increased in anal ejaculations. Play safe.

"Destroy Dick December" is a term that originated on the internet as a humorous and fictional challenge that gained some popularity on social media platforms. It is associated with the month of December, hence the name.
In the context of "Destroy Dick December," the idea is that participants are jokingly encouraged to engage in masturbation or sexual activity on a daily basis throughout the month of December, often escalating the frequency each day. The challenge is presented as a humorous and exaggerated concept, not to be taken seriously or as an actual recommendation for sexual behavior that harms their genitals.

International Fetish Day is celebrated annually on the third Friday of January. It was started in the UK (as 'National Fetish Day') as an opposition to the UK law criminalizing the possession of 'extreme pornography', as well as encouraging people to be more open about their kinky lifestyle.
International Fisting Day is an annual observance held on October 21 that recognizes and discusses fisting as a consensual sexual practice. The day is used by writers, artists, sex-workers, educators, and community members to increase visibility, reduce stigma, and share accurate information about a sex act that is often misunderstood or censored.
The observance was created by in 2011 by feminist pornographers Jiz Lee and Courtney Trouble in response to widespread censorship of fisting in pornography and online content policies. International Fisting Day continues to function as both a celebration of the act, and a form of protest against restrictive “obscenity” guidelines. It also promotes education, consent, and safer practices around fisting.
In 2025, Fist Club Europe declared International Fisting Day on May 5th. In this case, the date was chosen because of the five fingers on the hand. It is considered a complementary observance that aims to focus more on the global gay community.
International Kink Day, observed on October 6, is an unofficial day for celebrating kink and talking more openly about it. It can include BDSM, fetishes, roleplay, power exchange, and other forms of consensual sexual expression that fall outside the mainstream.
The day is also used to promote kink education, reduce stigma, and encourage safer, more open conversations about consent, communication, and different kinds of desire. It is not an official international holiday, and its exact origins are not well documented.
The celebration sometimes extends to the whole month of October (Kinktober.)
There is no single official way to celebrate International Kink Day. Kink communities, educators, and sexual-health organizations may mark the day with workshops, discussion panels, social events, beginner classes, or online posts. For many people, it is less about a large public celebration and more about education, community, and making kink easier to talk about openly.
Origins of International Kink Day
The exact origins of International Kink Day are unclear. Online references to October 6 as National Kink Day can be traced to at least 2017, but there does not appear to be a well-documented founder or organization behind it. The observance seems to have spread mainly through online kink communities, sexual-health sites, and awareness calendars.

Kinktober is an event that gained popularity in online communities, particularly on platforms like Tumblr and Twitter. It was inspired by Inktober, an annual event where artists create and share ink-based drawings throughout October. Kinktober follows a similar format but focuses specifically on exploring and celebrating kinks, fetishes, and alternative sexual practices.
During Kinktober, participants often follow a set of daily prompts or themes that are related to specific kinks or fetishes. These prompts provide inspiration and direction for creating original content that explores various aspects of kink and sexuality. Participants can choose to create illustrations, comics, written stories, or other forms of creative works that express their interpretations of the prompts.
The event serves as a way for individuals to share their artwork and creative expressions, engage in conversations about kink, and promote awareness and acceptance of diverse sexual interests and expressions. It can also be an opportunity for people to discover new kinks, learn more about different fetishes, and connect with others who share similar interests.

Locktober is an online event or challenge that revolves around chastity play and is often observed during the month of October. It involves individuals voluntarily or consensually engaging in practices where their genitals are placed in a chastity device, such as chastity cages or belts to restrict or control sexual access and orgasm.
Participants in Locktober may include individuals in BDSM or power exchange dynamics, couples exploring chastity play, or those interested in exploring the psychological and sexual aspects of orgasm denial. The practice can involve a dominant partner, often referred to as a keyholder, who retains control over the chastity device and decides when or if the submissive partner is allowed sexual release.
The purpose of Locktober can vary among participants. Some may embrace it as a form of power exchange or domination, where the submissive partner experiences erotic frustration and heightened arousal from being denied orgasm. Others may use it as a means to explore sexual anticipation, enhance intimacy, or introduce new dynamics into their relationship.

"No-Nut November" is an internet-based challenge or event that gained popularity on social media platforms. It involves abstaining from ejaculation or refraining from sexual activity, particularly in the context of masturbation, throughout the entire month of November.
The origins of No-Nut November are unclear, but it is often associated with promoting self-discipline, personal growth, and raising awareness about the potential effects of excessive pornography consumption or the importance of healthy sexual habits. Some individuals may therefore participate in this challenge as a personal goal or to support others who are undertaking it.
In the kink community, however, this event is often celebrated as a form of chastity play or power exchange where people give up control of their orgasms for the month as a form of play.

Pegtember is a playful name for September as a month for celebrating or trying pegging. People may use the term for pegging-themed challenges, events, memes, or discussions during September.
Origins of the Term Pegtember
Pegtember appears to have emerged online in late August 2023 as a playful September-themed pegging challenge or celebration. One of the earliest clearly dated references is an Urban Dictionary entry from August 29, 2023, followed immediately by posts on TikTok and Reddit. At the time, many commenters were still asking what the word meant, suggesting it was very new or only beginning to spread.
The idea follows an already-established internet tradition of assigning sexual or kink-related themes to particular months. No Nut November, Anal August, and Locktober are other examples.
Pride Month, or just "Pride," is an annual celebration and affirmation of the identities, rights, and cultures of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and other gender and sexual minorities. Pride is typically celebrated in June to honor the 1969 Stonewall riots in New York City. Internationally, different Pride events take place around the world at different dates.
While Pride is considered a period of celebration for LGBTQ communities, it also often includes BDSM & kink communities. You can often see Leather Pride and Puppy Pride flags at gatherings. At its core, Pride promotes the rights, self-affirmation, dignity, equality, and increased visibility for any marginalized social groups, and stands against social stigmas and shame.
Origins of Pride
Pride originated from resistance and protest, most notably the Stonewall riots in June 1969. These six days of unrest in New York City were sparked by a police raid on a gay bar in Greenwich Village.
On June 28, 1970, the first anniversary of the riots, activists organized the inaugural Pride marches in New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, and San Francisco. These events marked the beginning of annual Pride celebrations, transforming from acts of defiance into global movements advocating for LGBTQ+ visibility, rights, and community.

Ropetober is an annual challenge in October where people who enjoy rope will attempt to do something with rope every day of the month. This can be done as a rope bottom/model/rope bunny, as rope top/rigger, as rope switch or as a person who does self tying.
Some people keep a diary of what they did during the month and post the end-of-month overview. Some also have a challenge prompt they use for different days with themes. And while some do something with rope every day, other just do it more often. It's fairly free to determine how you'd like to fill it in and it's really a personal choice in how you would like to pay attention to it.

Steak and a Blowjob Day is an annual meme holiday celebrated on March 14th. It is exactly one month after Valentine's Day (February 14th), and has been touted as the masculine answer to to this holiday. Where Valentine's Day is the day to celebrate the women with chocolates, flowers, and pampering, March 14th is a more rowdy version where the man gets served a steak dinner and given a blow job.
While primarily considered a heterocentric holiday, Steak and a Blowjob Day is still fairly popularly celebrated, even mockingly or in fun, by many people of all genders.
The female-centric alternative to this holiday is Cake and Cunnilingus Day.

World BDSM Day is an annual observance on July 24 meant to celebrate the BDSM/kink community, its diversity, and its practices. It works to raise awareness and dispel myths and stigma about consensual BDSM. It also provides an opportunity for education, social events, workshops, and community connection.
World BDSM was founded in 2003 by Kurt Walter Fisher, who was the owner of the Rosas Cinco Club in Barcelona. The date, July 24 (7/24), was chosen as a symbolic nod to “24/7 BDSM," the idea of a BDSM role, identity, or dynamic being lived continuously, around the clock.
World BDSM Day is now celebrated relatively widely in kinky and sex-positive spaces.
