A thembo is a charming, attractive, and often kind-hearted person - of any gender, but especially nonbinary or gender-nonconforming - who channels the energy of a “bimbo” with a gender-neutral or queer twist. This term is related to “bimbo” and “himbo,” but is more inclusive of trans and nonbinary people. It is sometimes reclaimed in queer and online communities as a celebration of nontraditional beauty and intelligence.
