The act of passing semen from one person’s mouth to another’s. The exchange may go back and forth several times, with saliva adding to the mix as it does. It most often happens between the person who ejaculated and their partner, though others can be involved too.
It is sometimes called cum swapping, although that term is broader and does not require the person who ejaculated to take part in the swap. The name borrows the everyday image of a snowball growing as it rolls, and a character nicknamed "Snowball" in the 1994 film Clerks may have helped bring the slang wider attention.
For some partners it is a deeply intimate act that builds closeness and trust. Others enjoy it as something novel to explore together, or value the shared sensation of both people tasting and feeling the same thing at once. Within Dominant/submissive or Top/bottom play it can also carry symbolic weight around giving and receiving, control and surrender.
Safety & Consent
Because it involves swapping bodily fluids, snowballing carries a risk of sexually transmitted infections, and open sores, cuts or irritated gums in the mouth raise that risk. Partners should talk honestly about their interest, concerns and STI status beforehand, and some choose to keep it within fluid-bonded relationships where those risks have already been agreed. Safe words or clear non-verbal signals keep consent ongoing, and aftercare such as cuddling and talking over what did and did not feel good helps everyone reconnect.
