objectification

A form of play in which one person is treated as an object rather than as a person. It can be psychological, drawing on elements such as degradation, or physical, using things like bondage to fix someone in place.

Roles vary a great deal. Human furniture is a common example, where a bottom serves as a table, footstool or similar item, and so is taking on the role of a fuckdoll or another kind of object. In most versions the bottom, often in a submissive role, gives up control and becomes whatever object the Top, often in a Dominant role, decides they should be. It overlaps heavily with humiliation, obedience training and service submission.

Some who are objectified enjoy disappearing into the role, finding that being reduced to a single function is calming and a break from everyday life. Others are drawn to the degradation of being consensually used instead of choosing or taking part. The person doing the objectifying may enjoy the sense of power that comes with setting aside another person’s will and directing them completely, as well as the simple satisfaction of having an object serve them.
